POPIA COMPLIANCE NOTICE AND DATA PROTECTION DISCLOSURE

QuickFin Loan (“QuickFin”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and all applicable South African data-protection laws.

This notice outlines how QuickFin, as a responsible digital financial intermediary platform, collects, uses, shares, stores, and safeguards personal information belonging to clients, partners, and website users.

QuickFin acts as a Responsible Party and/or Operator as defined by POPIA, depending on the nature of the processing activity.

2. Our Commitment to POPIA Principles

QuickFin fully upholds the eight conditions for lawful processing under POPIA:

  2. Processing Limitation: We process data only for specific, legitimate purposes related to credit facilitation and platform operations.
  3. Purpose Specification: Information is collected solely to assess loan eligibility, verify identity, and match applicants with appropriate Financial Services Providers (FSPs).
  4. Further Processing Limitation: No further processing occurs beyond the original purpose without legal basis or your explicit consent.
  5. Information Quality: We take all reasonable steps to ensure that personal data is accurate, complete, and current.
  6. Openness: Our processing activities are transparent and clearly communicated.
  7. Security Safeguards: We employ strict technical and organisational security measures to prevent unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
  8. Data Subject Participation: You have the right to access, correct, or delete your information at any time.

3. Types of Personal Information Collected

  • Personal details (full name, ID number, date of birth, nationality)

  • Financial and employment information (income, expenses, employer, banking details)
  • Credit and affordability data
  • Supporting documents (proof of income, ID, bank statements)

  • Assessing loan eligibility and matching applicants with FSPs
  • Providing pre-qualification, loan facilitation, or referral services
  • Identity verification and fraud prevention
  • Fulfilling regulatory and anti-money-laundering obligations
  • Managing client and partner relationships
  • Communicating important updates or service information (with consent)
  • Improving our platform, analytics, and customer experience

5. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

QuickFin will only share personal information in accordance with POPIA and for legitimate business reasons:

  • With licensed Financial Services Providers (FSPs) or credit partners who have agreed to confidentiality and data-protection terms;
  • With verified service providers assisting in verification, analytics, or communications under formal operator agreements;
  • With regulatory or law-enforcement bodies when legally required;
  • With your explicit consent for any other form of data sharing.

All FSPs and service providers are bound by equivalent POPIA-compliant data-protection obligations.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Personal information is securely stored on protected servers located within South Africa (and, where applicable, in jurisdictions maintaining adequate data-protection standards). We retain information only as long as necessary for operational, legal, or regulatory purposes. Once data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymised.

8. Direct Marketing and Consent

9. Your POPIA Rights

  • Access your personal information held by QuickFin
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or outdated data
  • Withdraw consent for processing (where applicable)

  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your data has been misused
